Troubleshooting Steps:
- Open the Document on a Different Computer:
- Try opening the Word document on a different computer that has Microsoft Office.
- You can email the file to yourself or use a removable flash drive.
- Check if the issue persists to determine if it’s related to the file itself or the application.
- Check for Corrupt Files:
- If the problem continues, there’s a chance the file might be corrupt.
- If not, the issue likely lies with the application itself.
Resolving the Issue:
- Step 1: Start by opening the Programs menu from the start-up.
- Step 2: Type in Programs and select Add or Remove Programs from the list.
- Step 3: Scroll down the list of Apps and Features until you find Microsoft Office Professional (or whichever version you are using).
- Step 4: Select Modify when prompted. If you receive a User Account Control prompt, click Yes.
- Step 5: Choose Quick Repair to fix most issues quickly without needing an internet connection.
- Step 6: Click on Repair and let the process run. This should take a few moments.
Final Steps:
Once the process is complete, a message will appear saying, “Done Repairing.” Close the window and any open programs, then restart your computer.
